During the session, Professor Randall S. Kroszner - Norman R. Bobins Professor of Economics, and Deputy Dean for Executive Programs at Chicago Booth, will deliver a masterclass on “Lessons from the Global Financial Crisis: Could it happen again?”:

2008 marked the banking collapse and the start of the global financial crisis. The global economy avoided a second Great Depression and recovered, but growth is slowing and financial fragilities still exist. As a former governor of the US Federal Reserve, Chicago Booth Professor Randall S. Kroszner took a lead role in developing US responses to the financial crisis. What lessons have we learned since then? How has the crisis influenced today's global regulatory and risk environments? Could it happen again?

The opportunity to hear from our faculty is really one of the best ways to experience what Chicago Booth has to offer. To that end, we want to provide you with a snapshot of a typical interaction that occurs in a Chicago Booth Executive MBA classroom.

Professor Kroszner served as a Governor of the Federal Reserve System from 2006 until 2009. He took a leading role in developing responses to the financial crisis and new initiatives to improve consumer protection and disclosure. To learn more about Professor Kroszner, please see his bio here.
