Malaysia is on track to meet its net-zero targets by 2050 and central to this, is the country's strategy to achieve a just energy transition under its recently unveiled Sustainable Energy Development prospectus at the United Nation's 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28). Financial markets are expected to drive funding and investments to support this plan, with transition finance set to play a key role. The launch of Malaysia's carbon exchange, emergence of energy transition mechanisms (ETMs) and development of green technologies will further accelerate decarbonization.

As part of MUFG's longstanding commitment to Asia, we have actively engaged key stakeholders to further align their sustainability agendas with Asia's broader decarbonization efforts and developmental trends. It is with this intent that we will be hosting MUFG N0W (Net Zero World), a series of thought leadership and networking sessions bringing together top business leaders, policymakers and industry experts from the region.
